German Foreign Minister Sends Angry Message to Israel: You Will Not Force Us to Show Solidarity Against Gaza.
German Foreign Minister Johann Fadepol has sharply criticized Israel over the
worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
Addressing Israel directly, Fadepol stated:
"Germany will not be forced into solidarity with you."
He added:
"It is absolutely unacceptable that the people of Gaza are deprived of
food and medicine."
Fadepol also confirmed that he would "call Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon
Sa’ar later, as the situation is unbearable."
The minister emphasized that the current phase "requires us to seriously
consider what new steps need to be taken."
Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Tuesday that Germany feels
"more than just concern" about Israeli military actions in Gaza.
Merz added that what has happened in recent days was not necessary to fight
Hamas or protect Israel’s existence.
He further stated that the latest Israeli attacks on Gaza are causing civilian
casualties that can no longer be justified as part of a war on terror.
In a televised interview with WDR, Merz said:
"Causing this level of harm to civilians, as has increasingly been the
case in recent days, can no longer be justified as a war against Hamas
terrorism."
He confirmed his intention to hold a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu this week to urge him "not to go too far."
Meanwhile, sources revealed on Monday that there are increasing indications
that U.S.
President Donald Trump may soon announce a ceasefire in Gaza in the coming days,
as part of a broader deal expected to include the release of Israeli hostages held by
Hamas.
The sources said:
"There are expectations that Trump will announce a Gaza ceasefire within
days."
They added that:
"Trump’s announcement will be part of a deal that includes the release of
Israeli hostages."
Trump had earlier stated on Sunday that he believes “good news” is coming
regarding Hamas and the situation in Gaza.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said:
"We want to see if we can stop the fighting in Gaza."
He continued:
"We have spoken with Israel and want to see if we can end this entire
situation as soon
as possible."
Long live Egypt and Palestine.
Sincerely,
Nasser El-Naggar
